Marked Chapter 3

MARDEK Chapter 3: Mardek game series is one of the longest RPG game. Keystones is the third chapter of MARDEK. It has an improved engine, a more complicated, nonlinear plot, "oodles" more characters, items, etc. Due to a (no longer existent) save bug, Mardek RPG: Chapter 3 is not compatible with save games from earlier versions of chapters one and two. New versions of these chapters with the redesigned engine have been released on the 6th of July 2010.

The story begins three years after the events in Chapter 2. Mardek has not seen Deugan or Emela since the crash of the saucer, despite looking for both. He, along with newly appointed knights Donovan and Sharla, arrive at the Sun Temple to investigate the monster attacks in the lower levels of the temple. During the investigation they are attacked Sslen'ck and his Reptoid warriors who falsely believe them as intruders. After dealing with the monsters in the temple they met Sslen'ck again in the village of Xantusia who agreed to join them. They move through the Sandflow Caves to the Dark Temple and found out that the Dark Crystal has been stolen by a mysterious fellow. Sharla healed the guardian, Solaar and he agreed to help them. They are attacked by the mysterious man and when he found out he's losing, he warped out with the Crystal. After that Mardek is summoned by the King. The King has glowing red eyes and talks strangely which Rohoph seems familiar but cannot recognize. He orders them to find the Elemental Crystals for him. In their journey, they recruit Elwyen, Gloria, Meraeador, Vehrn, Zach and Legion to the party. When the Crystals have been found, Rohoph tells the King his true identity - he is in fact Qualna, the Governance de Magi member who was sent to kill him. They exorcise Qualna from the King's body however he is wounded too critically from the battle. He tells everyone that Donovan is in fact his son and he must take the throne. Qualna possesses Clavis and tries to escape to Anshar via an Astral Tunnel though he is ultimately killed by Rohoph. He begs for mercy but Rohoph cast a spell to prevent him from Soul Transferring again. Mardek and Elwyen then go to Aeropolis to see a play. After the play, Mardek meets a stranger who talks about his past, which is similar to Mardek's and Deugan's. Rohoph then fires Elwyen, as he has a fear of his friends, similar to the Governance de Magi that betrayed him. They sent Gaspar to Belfan to kill Rohoph.
